Grade Level: 8
Introduction- They don't have engines, they don't have accelerators and they don't have brakes. So what makes roller coaster cars speed up, slow down and loop upside down? And why do so many of us enjoy the ride so much?
This learning activity provides a follow-up activity for students to: Apply their understanding of forces and motion by finding and creating examples.
Students will design a multimedia presentation that includes examples of force and motion.
A basic rubric is presented at the beginning of the learning activity to help students define the scope of the presentation project. The multimedia presentation should integrate sound, scanned pictures, motion pictures, and digital camera images to convey the uses of acceleration as well as provide an avenue of expression for multiple learning styles.
