Hyperlink: may be an icon or underlined sentence that, when clicked, takes the user to another page

Hypertext: a hyperlink within a document that takes a reader to a specific page of information related to the linked word

Plagiarism: using an author’s exact words or ideas without giving credit; a form of cheating that can result in disciplinary action

Summarizing: putting information in your own words and stating only the most important or key ideas; shorter than a paraphrase

Paraphrase: restate someone else’s ideas in your own words, usually about the same length as the original text

Works Cited: list of the works used in a report or writing using MLA formatting
