Topic:  Using a spreadsheet to compare the volume of a cone, a cylinder and a sphere with the same radius.

Course:  7^th grade math—on grade level and honors

Time Frame:  1 day in computer lab after students have done the problems in Filling and Wrapping involving making the shapes and putting the volume of one into another.

Description:  This project uses a spreadsheet to compare the volumes of a cone, cylinder and sphere of the same radius.  The project will enable students to more clearly see relationships among these three shapes and the formulas for their volumes.
