Cell:  an intersection of a column and row—these are designated with a letter and a number

Column:  a series of cells going vertically—these are designated with letters

Currency:  money—including the proper symbol, for example US currency is $2.50

Row:  a series of cells going across the spreadsheet—these are numbered

Format:  use Format tools to change the appearance of information in a cell, row, column or entire spreadsheet

Formula:  allows the spreadsheet to make calculations based on information in certain cells

Spreadsheet:  a collection of rows and columns containing both text and numeric information—formulas allow for calculation based on information contained in individual cells

Toolbar:  allows easy access to some of the spreadsheet tools—just like in Word, the toolbar can be customized

Total:  the sum of all the items

Unit cost:  the price of one item
