Topic: Making
a Pop-Up Book Report
Course:
Reading, Grade 7
Time Frame: 1-2
days (classroom) or (computer
lab)
Introduction
The
idea to create scenes that pop-up from a book is not a new idea.
Some of the first pop-up books were created over 100 years ago. We can find pop-ups in
children's books, comics, science and history books. Creating a
pop-up is a great way to emphasize important parts of a story.
You might still remember the first pop-up book you had as a
child. In this project, you will create a pop-up for a fiction
book you have read. Completing this project will help you and
your classmates answer three essential questions.
Essential
Questions
- How
can a change in setting affect other parts of a story?
- Why
is it important for fiction books to contain a major problem
and solution?
- How
do authors get readers to be able to relate to their
characters?
