For this book report, you will describe a fiction book you have read. Your report will include a summary of the book, important information about the characters, setting, and information about the main problem and how it was solved. You may want to print this page and write the due date for each part of this project.

Page One - Book Summary:
Write a complete paragraph describing what the book was about. Include the author, title, main characters, major events, and how the conclusion of the story.
Page Two - Problem and Solution:
Write a complete paragraph that describes the main problem and solution of the story. Divide the page for your picture vertically. Write PROBLEM at the top of the left panel and SOLUTION at the top of the right panel.
On the left panel create a pop-up picture illustrating the problem. On the right panel create a pop-up picture illustrating the solution.
Page Three - Setting:
Write a complete paragraph describing the setting of the book. You may include the time period, geographical location, socioeconomic factors, surroundings, climate, season, or any other features of the setting included by the author.
Page Four - Alternative Setting:
Choose an alternate setting for your book. write a complete paragraph describing the alternative setting and how it would change the outcome of the story. Create a pop-up picture illustrating the alternative setting of the book.
Page Five - Character Study:
Use the Venn diagram below to compare and contrast the main character, a secondary character, and yourself. Be sure to fill in all the spaces provided. Copy this Venn diagram and the information onto the bottom of your fifth page. Choose one of the main differences between you and the main character from your Venn diagram.
1. Divide the page for your picture vertically.
2. Write the name of the main character on the top of the left panel and your name on the top of the right panel.
3. On the left panel, create a pop-up of the main character in a scene illustrating the difference you chose in your Venn diagram.
4. On the right panel, create a pop-up of yourself in a scene illustrating the difference.


Cover:
Design a cover for your book that includes the title of the book,  the author, and the words, "Pop-Up Book by (your name)," Also illustrate the cover.

Proofread and edit. Type the content for pages 1-4 using a word processor. Due: _________

Oral Presentation: Present your pop-up book to a group of peers. Due: _________

You will have an opportunity to present and explain your pop-up book to a group of peers in a small group. Have the book you read with you to show an example of where you found some of the information for your pop-up book report. Have bookmarks in several pages of the original book so you can show documentation of where you found the information. Your oral presentation should not be longer than 5 minutes. Read the Grading Rubric before you present, so you will be able to receive full credit.
