WILLIAM TAYLOR NAMED
PRINCIPAL FOR SOUTH SIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The
Champaign Unit 4 Board of Education named William D. Taylor as principal for
Southside Elementary School to replace Rhonda Kruse, who is retiring in June,
2008. Mr. Taylor’s educational
background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from
Florida International University and a Masters Degree in Educational
Administration from the University of Illinois.
Mr. Taylor has held the position of principal of Oakwood Grade School in
Oakwood, Illinois since August, 2006.
Prior to his role as principal in Oakwood, he
worked for Champaign Unit #4 Schools in the position of Student Services
Coordinator at Westview Elementary for three school years; fifth grade teacher
at Washington Elementary for four years, and eighth grade teacher at Franklin
Middle School for one year. He has also
served Unit #4 Schools as a summer school teacher. Mr. Taylor began his teaching career as a
fifth and sixth grade teacher in Miami, Florida. Mr. Taylor is a member of the Illinois
Principals Association, Vermilion County Elementary Schools Association,
Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrators, Illinois Association
for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the National Association of
Elementary School Principals
