DRESS CODE GUIDELINES FOR ALL BARKSTALL STUDENTS
PLAIN, SIMPLE, AND SOLID
- All clothing MUST be appropriately sized and fitted.
- No designer logos, labels, or insignias except the Barkstall logo.
- All blouses and shirts must be tucked in at all times.
- Hats, hoods and sunglasses may not be worn in the school building at any time of the school day, or at after-school events in the building.
- Dress code components must be purchased only in the designated solid colors. (No contrasting trim or stripes, even if they are in school colors)
- If earrings or other jewelry are worn, they should be conservative.
- Shoes that require laces must be tied at all times.
- If dress code requirements are not followed:
- With any offense, child will be sent to office before the start of classroom instruction, recess or lunch to change into appropriate uniform apparel.
- First Offense: A note will be sent home to be signed and returned by a parent or guardian the next day. (If the note is not returned to office signed by a parent or guardian, an administrator or designee will call the parent or guardian.)
- Second offense: Phone call home.
- Third offense: A conference between a parent or guardian, the student and the principal will be held.
- Persistent offenses: Could result in detention. (To be determined by principal).
