"As a parent to children that have and are in the Unit 4 school system, you have allowed me to continue my commitment in a larger capacity. Stewardship and participation in the direction of one of the largest economic drivers in our community cannot be underestimated. It is the focus of all of our board members, administration and staff that we find and make a way to empower our youth towards success. Diversity of student backgrounds, experiences and thought adds to the richness of Unit 4 allowing a glimpse of a world outside of Unit 4.

I am committed and passionate to see all Unit 4 schools be as successful as possible in educating our children, at all levels. As a parent of two children in our district I get to see all the effort and dedication that goes into our children’s education. I am proud of being part of a diverse community and school district. "All children have a right to a quality education, regardless of their abilities, their backgrounds, or their strengths and weaknesses. This school district must bridge the gap between those who need more assistance to keep up and those that need more assistance as they soar ahead. At the same time nurturing and advancing those in the middle. But, ALL children CAN learn. As a school district we must embrace this concept and address the needs of our children accordingly.

We need to develop short and long range plans that allow us to grow as needed, increase programs in a realistic, careful way, and give our administration a clear framework within which to work. We need to improve our facilities and expand our offerings to enrich the education of all our students.

As a test of success, I would like to see our children look back as adults and say that Unit 4 Schools provided them with an educational foundation that served them well the rest of their lives."
