Mike McDonnell returns for his ninth season as head football coach of the Coach of Centennial Chargers. Previously, Coach “Mac” served as a defensive football coach at MacMurray College and has coached special teams, kickers, and punters at the University of Illinois for John Mackovic. In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Coach McDonnell gained ten years of coaching and player personnel experience in the National Football League and served as a graduate assistant for Woody Hayes at Ohio State.
With a Masters degree in Education, Coach McDonnell teaches Physical education at Centennial. He and his wife, Barbara, reside in Champaign.
