1988:  9th Place in State 100 Freestyle

          6th Place in State in the  50 Freestyle

 

1989:  2nd Place in State in the 50 Freestyle

          4th Place in State in the 100 Freestyle

 

1990:  2nd Place in State in the 50 Freestyle

          3rd Place in State in the 100 Freestyle

 

Darryl Rodgers (1990)

Earned 4 letters on Central swim team.  1989 All-State 1st team in 50-yard freestyle.  1990 All-State 1st team in 50 yard and 100 yard freestyle.  Lettered one year on Central football team.  Lettered 4 years in swimming in college at West Point.  Lettered in football and swimming but was best known for his accomplishments in the pool.  Set school records in the 50 free and 100 free and was named all-state in the 50 free in 1989.  He was all-state in both events in 1990.  Swam in four state meets, earning eight top-10 finishes, including runner-up placing in the 1989 and 1990 50 free events.  Attended Army and swam for four years, and was awarded the “Class of 23” Award for the most outstanding senior-contributing to the success of the team.
