2008 – Coach Barb Cekander. The 2008 softball season was yet another rebuilding season, but showed improvement compared to the previous year. The season ended with a record of 3-23. Among those wins were victories over Urbana, Decatur MacArthur, and Centennial. Not only did the ladies defeat both twin city rivals, but the win over Centennial was in the first round of Regionals. The team this year did manage to reach their goal of having a better record than the year before, and also had a few individuals who accomplished some great things as well. Senior Olivia Birkey made the All-Conference first team, and sophomore Monica Rondon made All-Conference honorable mention. The team will lose six seniors this year: Andrea Fredrick, Kelly Kyrouac, Carrie Nelson, Katie Bollinger, Kristine Brown, and MVP/captain Olivia Birkey. Olivia will also continue her softball career at Millikin University in Decatur, IL.
2007 – Coach Michelle Warren. The 2007 softball season was a challenging year with a record of 1-24. Although the season didn't go as planned, the girls learned a lot and gained skills that will help in the future. During the year the team went back to to the basics and worked on technique. The softball team only lost one senior, Ashley Miskimins. Junoir Olivia Birkey and freshman Monica Rondon were honored by being chosen to the All-Conference team.
2006 – Coach Kelly. The 2006 softball team had another great season, with a record of 14 wins and 18 losses. The team was led by captains Lexie Moore and Sami Drennan. The team drastically improved throughout the season, losing 11 of their first 16 games and only losing 6 of their last 16. Highlights of their season were placing 2nd in the Mattoon Tournament and making it all the way to the regional championship game. Lexi Moore and Sami Drennan made all conference.
2005 – Coach Nic Nelson. The 2005 softball season proved to be another exiting one. The girls improved from an 8-20 finish last year to a 13-19 finish this year. This season the girls achieved one of their big goals by beating Normal Community. Other highlights included a 2nd place finish at the Mattoon Invitational, 5th place in the Big 12 conference, and the best record in the Twin Cities. Juniors Lexie Moore and Holly Engelhardt made the All-Conference team. With the return of six seniors, the team is fired up and ready for next season.
2004 – Coaches Barr and Trigg. The 2004 Central Maroons softball team kicked off the season with a four game winning streak. Senior Katie Crawford helped the team by starting off with a 15 game hitting streak in the first 17 games. Katie earned a spot on the All-Conference list along with Lexie Moore, Samantha Drennan, and Carolyn Ratcliffe. The team's dream for State ended early with a heartbreaking loss to Streator in the first round of Regionals.
2003 – Coaches Jackson, Trig, and Moolay. The 2003 Softball team improved a lot this season. For the first time in the last four years, the Central girls softball team beat Centennial. Seniors Andrea Dixon, Heather Overmyer, and Heather Stumborg led the team to resounding victories. Julie Deschler, Lexie Moore, Katie Crawford, Andrea Dixon, and Heather Overmyer all received the News Gazette's Honorable Mention.
2002 – Coaches Carr and Hasenstab. The 2002 softball team improved a lot this past spring. They bonded as a team and worked well together. The team was led by senior captains Shelby Karr, Sydney Karr, and Whitney Dixon. With Mr. Hasenstab as the new head coach, patience and hard work were put forth to make this team great. Although they did not win as many games as they had hoped, the girls still had a fun season and look forward to next year's team.
2001 – Coaches Bill Wantland, Cathy Hardig, and Glenn Karr. The 2001 season was a rebuilding year for Central. The seniors, April Lele'a, Mary Darling, and Elise Parker-Stephen, were called upon to provide leadership for the many underclassmen. April Lele'a was selected to the All Big 12 team and junior Shelby Karr was named "Honorable Mention" Big 12. All though the season did not go as planned, the team had fun and many underclassmen got good game experience.
2000 – Coaches Bill Wantland, Cathy Hardig, and Glenn Karr. This year was an amazing year for Central Softball. This year the maroons were led under strong leadership of Erin Broadrick, Nicki Flynn, Casey Swift, Kristy Gilbert, Jessica Cavey, and Amanda May. Central experienced some trouble during the middle of the season after senior pitcher, Nicki Flynn, recieved a nose injury. Sophomore Shelby Karr was forced to step up and take her place. Although the maroons were slowed down due to the injuries, they were still able to pull it together to finish the season.
1999 – Coaches Bill Wantland and Jeff Hasenstab. The softball team this year ended the season with a 12-17 record.
1998 – Coaches John Stabb and Jeff Hasenstab. Captains: Laura Inskip and Katie Aquino; MVP: Laura Inskip.
1997 – Coaches Lou Sitch and John Stabb. This team dominated the field in defense and had a fair offense. Six of the team's losses were by one run, so they always stayed competitive. The season record was 11-19.
1996 – Coaches Lou Sitch and Susan Jones. Season record: 8-16; MVP's: Kim Nicol and Becky Medlock. These girls also made All Conference.
1995 – Coach Lou Sitch. The captains this year were Cathy Hardig and Jamie O'Connor. The season record was 15-11 and the conference record was 5-4.
1994 – Coaches Lou Sitch and Susan Jones. The team ended the season with an overall record of 14-12, and a conference record of 7-3. The team beat three of their biggest rivals during the season: Rantoul, Mattoon, and Danville. They also beat cross town rivals Centennial and Urbana twice to earn the Twin City title for a second year in a row.

1992 – Coach Krinninger. Season Record: 6-20
1991 – Coaches Sally Marrshall and Lou Sitch. Season Record: 8-11

1989 – Coach Miller. The 1989 girls softball team was a group of talented athletes. Leslie Coates made all-conference, and Gwen Collins and Latressa Strow made honorable mention. These seniors showed great leadership this year.
1988 – Coach Miller. Juniors Leslie Coates, Gwen Collins, and Laura De Atley each set team records this season. Coates had the most stolen bases (38), Collins had the highest batting average (.405), and De Atley the highest on base percentages (.508). This years Season Record was 5-17.
1987 – Coach Miller. The Girls Softball team this year was very proud of their accomplishments this season. Their biggest feat: beating cross-town rival Centennial not just once, but twice.
1986 – Coach Quinlan. MVP: Marci Maier with a batting average of .409. Missy Morton was team captain, pitcher, and had a batting average of .383.
1985 – Coach Quinlan. The 1985 softball team had a winning season. Heather Gladney pitched almost every inning of this season and Jan Clasey batted .350, helping end the season with 11 wins.
1984 – Coach Patterson. The girls softball team started off with a slow beginning, but with a ten game winning streak at the end of the season, the year turned out to be a pretty fair one. The lady maroons lost the Sectional title to Unity.

1979 – Coach Patterson. The softball team this year was great. The girls were undefeated all the way up to State with a 17-0 record. The team went out in the elite eight and were very proud.
