Information about school closings
As a reminder, the best way to receive information about school closings is to pay attention to the media (radio and T.V.).  Prior to announcing school closings to campus administrators, these announcements are made to the media -- they are the first to know.  The following media outlets receive information regarding closing, schedule changes, or busing changes for Champaign Schools:
WDWS/WHMS radio, WILL radio and TV, Mix 94.5 WLRW/WIXY/Oldies 92 WKIO/Extra 99.1 radio, WGKC/WQQB radio, WICD TV, WBCP radio, WPGU radio, WBGL radio, WEFT radio, WEIU radio and TV, WCIA TV, and WAND TV.

Cell Phone Policy:
The assistant principals and deans from across the District have drafted new guidelines for cell phones, telephones, and pagers.  Here is a link to the draft:  Cell Phone, Telephone, and Pager Guidelines

Dress Code Reminder:
Please be reminded about out dress code, as follows:
"There is a direct relationship between grooming and conduct.  Students are expected to dress and groom themselves within the guidelines of individual pride, decency, cleanliness and safety.  Students must refrain from wearing any clothing that will disrupt the educational process.  Students will not be permitted to wear clothing to class which has imprints, writings, etc. that is suggestive or endorses illegal substances or is in any way profane.  The following list contains examples of inappropriate dress:
Hats, headbands or do-rags
Pants worn below the waist
Pants that expose underwear
Low cut tops or cropped tops
Tops that do not cover the midsections
Short shorts/skirts
Translucent clothing
Pajama pants
Bedroom/House slippers
Any other attire that is deemed in anyway disruptive or inappropriate"

Recycle Printer Cartridges and Cell Phones:
If you have printer cartridges or old cell phones to recycle, please drop them in one of the boxes located in the office, computer lab, or library.  Edison's technology department will recycle them for profit toward our technology programs.

Athletics:
Flyers about the physical deadlines for next year, basketball camp for boys and the cross country summer running program can be found on the athletic bulletin board outside the discipline office or on the bulletin board outside room 122.

 Your child can obtain the Champaign Unit 4 Schools Athletic Insurance and Participation form from Ms. Borchardt or there will be forms on the athletics bulletin board outside room 122.  They physical form must be obtained from the doctors. The completed form (signed by the doctor) and the Champaign Unit 4 Schools Athletic Insurance and Participation form must both be turned in to Ms. Borchardt prior to the set deadlines.  Physicals for Cross Country and Girls' Basketball are due prior to school starting!!  If you have any questions please call (351-3771) or e-mail (borchaja@champaignschools.org).  Thanks!
