Eye Exams Regulations require
eye examinations of all children enrolling in kindergarten in a public,
private or parochial school and any student enrolling for the first time in a
public, private or parochial school. The examination must be performed by a
physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches or a licensed
optometrist within the previous year. Proof of the examination must be provided
to the school by October 15th. Health Exams
In addition to the eye examinations, there are new regulations for health
examinations. They have changed the requirement for 5th grade exams
to 6th grade exams. However, due to the fact that students entering
6th grade this year would have received a physical for 5th
grade, they will not be required to have another physical this year. In
2009-2010, all 6th grade students will be required to have a
