Principal's Welcome.

The staff and parents at Carrie Busey Elementary School have a tradition of working together to promote a caring learning environment, centered around literature and writing. We believe that literacy is the key that begins a pattern of lifelong learning, and this year’s goal is to “Build Minds One Book at a Time”. We strive to offer an educational program that will support, encourage, and challenge all students. On behalf of the staff and students, welcome to Carrie Busey!

*Carrie Busey* *Elementary named a 2008 Illinois Spotlight School* Champaign Unit 4 schools have earned six 2008 Illinois State Board of Education Honor Roll Awards. All Spotlight Schools made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), have at least half of their students from low-income families, and have at least 60 percent of all students passing state achievement tests in reading and math.
