Board Statement on Public Posting of Offer to Champaign Federation of Teachers

The Board of Education has submitted its most recent offer for public posting in accordance with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act (115 ILCS 5). Throughout the collective bargaining process with the Champaign Federation of Teachers (CFT), the District has kept this information confidential out of respect for the process.

Statement Regarding CFT Strike Authorization Vote

From the Board of Education:

We are surprised and disappointed to learn that the CFT Leadership has again decided to take a strike vote when we are in the midst of bargaining. With the help of the Federal mediator, the parties continue to make significant progress. In fact, during our last bargaining session the District and CFT came to agreement on six separate issues.
