Lockman Steps Down From Board of Education

Champaign resident Tom Lockman has stepped down from his position on the Champaign Unit 4 School District Board of Education. Following the December 10 Board of Education meeting, he submitted his resignation to Board President Stig Lanesskog and Superintendent Dr. Judy Wiegand. Lockman states he is stepping away for personal and professional reasons, but that he remains confident in the direction of the District.  

Deadline Extended for Board of Education Candidate Petitions

The deadline for Board of Education Candidate Petitions has been extended to December 26, 2012 at 5 p.m.

The Illinois General Assembly passed Senate Bill 3338 this week, which extended the deadline (previously Christmas Eve) to December 26.

The deadline extension will also impact the deadline for filing objections, which is now January 3, 2013.

Champaign Unit 4 Gives Thanks to Board of Education

Champaign Unit 4 School District will recognize the members of its Board of Education on November 15 as part of School Board Members Day in Illinois. Unit 4 is joining other districts across the state to thank these community volunteers for their commitment and contributions to our public schools.

Board of Education Names New President

At its November 5 meeting, the Champaign Unit 4 School District Board of Education named Mr. Stig Lanesskog to serve as President after Ms. Sue Grey announced that she would step down from her position.
