Board Confirms Administrative Appointments

The Board of Education for Champaign Unit 4 Schools has unanimously confirmed the appointment of three members of Executive Team for the Champaign Unit 4 School District at their meeting on April 23, 2012. The Board has approved the appointment of Dr. Susan Zola as Assistant Superintendent for Achievement of Curriculum and Instruction, Ms. Angela Smith as Assistant Superintendent for Achievement and Equity, and Mr. Ken Kleber as Executive Director of Human Resources. They will join Dr. Judy Wiegand, along with Mr.

New principal named for Barkstall Elementary

The Champaign Unit 4 Board of Education has approved the appointment of Jaime Roundtree as Principal of Barkstall Elementary School. Mr. Roundtree will succeed Principal Trudy Walters who is retiring at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. 

Special Ed Administrator confirmed by Board

At the Board meeting on April 23, 2012, the Board of Education approved the appointment of April Westerfield as a Special Education Administrator in the District. Ms. Westerfield holds Masters’ Degrees in Education and Educational Administration. She was previously a special education teacher in Unit 4 Schools and an administrator in the Tri County Special Education Association. She is currently serving as the Principal for Pavilion Foundation Schools in Champaign.

Ileana Saveley sworn in as newest Board member

Ileana Saveley was sworn in as the newest member of the Champaign Unit 4 Board of Education at the meeting on April 23, 2012. 

The Champaign Unit 4 Board of Education selected Ms.Saveley to fill the vacancy created by the recent death of Board of Education member Greg Novak. Ms. Saveley will complete Mr. Novak’s term which expires in April of 2013. The Board was required to fill the seat within 45 days of the vacancy, according to board policy.

Interviews Scheduled for Board Vacancy

The board of Education of Champaign Community Unit School District #4 has selected eight candidates to interview for the vacancy created by the recent death of Board of Education member Greg Novak. The candidate filling this vacancy will complete Mr. Novak’s term which expires in April of 2013. The Board is required to fill the seat within 45 days of the vacancy, according to board policy and will deliver notice of the appointment to the Regional Office of Education no later than April 21.
