Central High School to dismiss early, Tuesday September 26

Due to the combined temperature and humidity inside the building, Champaign Central High School will dismiss at 1:05 p.m. today, September 26, 2017. Athletic and band practice schedules will follow high-heat guidelines. Coaches and directors will communicate with participants about any changes to their schedules.

Your child may leave the building at 1:05 using their own transportation. MTD and yellow buses will be available.

Due to the projected forecast for tomorrow's temperature, Champaign Central High School will dismiss at 1:05 pm. tomorrow, September 22, 2017. Athletic and band practice schedules will follow high-heat guidelines. Coaches and directors will communicate with participants about any changes to their schedules. Yellow buses and MTD will be available for bus riders.  

 

Central drum major to lead band in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Unit 4 is so proud of Central High School senior Enddy Almonord, who was selected as the drum major to lead the Great-American Marching Band this November in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The band is highly competitive and comprised of students from across the country. Enddy was selected by Barry Houser, director of the Marching Illini and the head of Smith Walbridge Camps, based on her outstanding efforts at the drum major academy she attended this summer. 

Kenwood carries on tradition at annual cross country race

For the 20th year, students at Kenwood Elementary lined up for the David Weber Memorial Race on Monday, September 11. A group of 31 girls ran the ¾ mile course first, then 35 boys - while teachers, parents, community members and the entire student body cheered from the sidelines.

Unit 4 Hires Director of Student, Family and Community Engagement

Ms. Wilcher began her career in 1991 as an Assistant Detention Officer for the Champaign County Youth Detention Center. In the years that followed, Ms. Wilcher maintained a high level of community involvement holding positions including Research Assistant for Harvard University School of Public Health, Caseworker for The Office of the Public Guardian, and Family Support Clinician for Provena Behavioral Health at Centerpoint.
