Champaign School District Appoints Interim Business Manager
September 6, 2012
Dr. Joseph Davis has been appointed Interim Business Manager for the Champaign Unit 4 School District. The appointment became effective September 5, 2012.
Dr. Davis, a retired administrator, will serve as the Interim Business Manager while the district continues the search for a new Chief Financial Officer. Superintendent Dr. Judy Wiegand says the district is conducting a thorough search for a Chief Financial Officer, and an interim will provide the District the time to do this.
“Dr. Davis will be a great asset to our District during this search for a Chief Financial Officer. His background in administration and prior work in the district makes him an ideal fit to help us during this transitional time,” says Dr. Wiegand.
Dr. Davis holds a Doctor of Education Administration from Northern Illinois University and previously served as Assistant Superintendent for Lincoln-Way High School District 210, where he worked for more than 34 years. In 2005, he came to Champaign Schools as a consultant in the Operations and Transportations departments. He also supervised the construction projects at both Garden Hills and Booker T. Washington Elementary Schools, which were completed last year. Dr. Davis will serve a 100-day contract with the district.
