CU Schools Foundation Celebrates 25 Years

BY SUPERINTENDENT DR. JUDY WIEGAND

This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation (CUSF) 25th Anniversary Benefit Gala. CUSF is an independent, non-profit, community-supported foundation whose purpose is to enhance the quality of education in both the Champaign Unit #4 School District and Urbana School District #116.

Applying the Seven Ingredients of Civility

BY SUPERINTENDENT DR. JUDY WIEGAND

This week, the Champaign Public Library is sponsoring Civility Week, a week to remind us of the importance of interacting with others with equal amounts of respect, consideration, and kindness. As educators, it is of the utmost importance that we continually strive to address the issues of bullying and rudeness in our schools and workplace. Of course, bullying has become the primary issue we focus on as we work to ensure that our schools are safe places for all students.
