Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is a Board of Education Committee.

We are committed to advance the broader interests of the community and stakeholder awareness with organizational transparency, in addition to redirecting dollars away from the unnecessary and inefficient spending of the past to focus on improving the district’s financial foundation and funding those activities that will improve the educational achievement of our students.


Committee Meetings

The Finance Committee meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month
from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the E.H. Mellon Building, 703 S. New Street, Champaign.
The meetings are open to the public.

The meetings shall undertake topics of importance to the District, its Community and Stakeholders in the financing of District operations, including but not limited to:

  • Budget sources and uses, tax levy, borrowing, audit and the financing matters of equity, capital construction, proposed new, continued and discontinued programming, selection of major purchases, contracts and the like.
  • Make public presentations on the previously mentioned, probe committee membership for clarity and understanding while soliciting feedback from said same members.
  • Consider and incorporate public and committee feedback and revise plans, as appropriate, prior to furthering a matter for adoption by the Board of Education.
