Middle school students are working toward mastering the following standards:
Physical Education
Standard 1: Positive Health Practices
Identify how positive health practices and relevant health car ecan help reduce health risks.
Standard 2: Movement Skills
Demonstrate control when performing combinations and sequences of locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative motor patterns in selected activities, games, and sports.
Standard 3: Physical Fitness
Identify and participate in activities associated with components of health-related fitness.
Standard 4: Team Building
Work cooperatively with others to accomplish a set goal in both competitive and non-competitive situations (e.g. baseball, basketball, choreographing a dance).
Health
Standard 1: Positive Health Practices
Identify how positive health practices and relevant health care can help reduce health risks.
Standard 2: Health Promotion, Prevention and Treatment
Understand principles of health promotion and the prevention and treatment of illness and injury.
Standard 3: Human Body Systems
Understand human body systems and factors that influence growth and development.
Standard 4: Communication and Decision Making
Promote and enhance health and well-being through the use of effective communication and decision-making skills.
