Unit 4 Board of Education Approves Interim Dean of Students at International Prep Academy

At its meeting Monday, the Champaign Board of Education voted to hire Ms. Amy Westfield for the Interim Dean of Students position at the International Prep Academy. The position has been added to accommodate the growing student population at the school, which opened its doors for the 2013-2014 school year and will eventually grow into a full 12th elementary school for the District.

Champaign Schools to Celebrate National School Lunch Week

To recognize the National School Lunch Program and the 30 million children it serves every day, Champaign Unit 4 School District schools will celebrate National School Lunch Week from October 12-October 16, 2015. The theme, “School Lunch Snapshot” is all about sharing the best images of today’s school lunches.

Five From Unit 4 Named National Merit Commended Students

Five from Unit 4 have been name National Merit Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. Grant Carlson (Centennial), Zachary Miller (Centennial), McCarthey Dressman (Central), Emily Madden (Central), and Hollee Trent (Central) have each received this honor.

Centennial Teacher Jay Hooper Named in 40 Under 40 List

Centennial High School mathematics teacher and department chair Jay Hooper has been named as one of Central Illinois Business Magazine’s Forty Under 40. 

The awards recognize young professionals for their achievements in their careers, leadership ability and dedication to community service.
