U4 Innovate video earns national Award of Excellence

Champaign Unit 4 Schools has been honored with an Award of Excellence from the National School Public Relations Association for the U4 Innovate video. Of 225 entries from across the United States, only 24 received the Award of Excellence, placing Unit 4’s video in the top 10% in the nation. To view the video and learn more about U4 Innovate visit

Deadline extended for BTW STEM Academy Wellness ROCKS 2K/Wellness Fair on September 12

The deadline to sign-up for the Booker T. Washington STEM Academy Wellness ROCKS 2K/Wellness Fair has been extended to Wednesday, September 2.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 12 around the school and on the new trail located behind Douglass Community Center sponsored by Champaign Park District.

Four Administrative Hirings Approved

The Champaign Board of Education approved four administrative appointments at its Monday meeting. 

Resources to Help Families Meet the School Physical and Immunization Deadline on September 1

Remember! School Physicals Are Required to Stay in School
The school physical and immunization deadline is now September 1, 2015. In previous years, the deadline has been October 15, so please note this earlier deadline. After September 1 students will be excluded from attending school until all required physical examinations and vaccinations have been completed.

Booker T. Washington STEM Academy to Name School Library After Dorothy Vickers-Shelley

A dedication ceremony will be held on August 7 at 4 p.m. to name the school library at Booker T. Washington STEM Academy after Ms. Dorothy Vickers-Shelley, a long-time educator and advocate. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony at the school's library.
