Career Realism Day - November 9

On Wednesday, November 9, high school freshmen and sophomores from Champaign and Urbana will take part in a Career Realism Day, made possible by a collaborative grant from the Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation. As part of the visit, students will learn about the various Career and Technical Education Programs at Parkland and tour a number of local businesses including: 

Stratton Veterans Day Activities

Stratton Academy of the Arts is welcoming veterans to school on Thursday, November 10 to engage with students as part of a special Veterans Day celebration. 

In the intermediate grades, veterans will engage students in conversations about what it means to be a veteran and ways they can support veterans as students.  

Referendum Meeting for Hill Street Neighborhood - November 3

Champaign Unit 4 School District will host a neighborhood meeting for residents in the Hill Street neighborhood on November 3 at 6 p.m. in the Central High School Library. 

Jefferson Mock Election Tomorrow

Champaign's Jefferson Middle School will host a Mock Election tomorrow, November 1, 2016 to educate students about the process and importance of voting. Teacher Christine Adrian is once coordinating this effort. In 2015, Ms. Adrian was recognized with a national award for the fourth time by the National Association of Secondary School Principals for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching Democracy for her work on Jefferson's mock election.
