Welcome Craig Keer, Principal of Carrie Busey Elementary

We are excited to announce that Mr. Craig Keer was selected as the next Principal of Carrie Busey Elementary School. He will begin in this role on July 31.

Mr. Keer attended Northeastern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 2000. From there he continued his education at Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois, where he earned a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership in 2004.

BTW STEM Academy's Kevin Frederick named finalist for Presidential math and science teaching award

Congratulations to Mr. Kevin Frederick, teacher at Booker T. Washington STEM Academy, for being named a finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). This is the nation's highest honor for teachers of math and science!

Building for the Future: Department Locations for the 2018-2019 School Year

District administrative offices are on the move for the 2018-2019 school year. 

Departments will be transitioning over the summer. Phone numbers for departments will remain the same.  If you wish to visit a department over the summer, please contact the department in advance to confirm location.

NOTICE: Champaign Unit 4 spraying for weeds beginning this weekend


Beginning July 12 and continuing through Aug 11, Champaign Unit 4 School District grounds staff will be spraying for weed control near schools and administrative buildings and along property fence lines. Staff will be spraying on the weekend when staff and students are not present. 

Please be aware and cautious if you see staff in the area.

Staff will be using Trimec broadleaf herbicide and Prosecutor prolong. 

Free/reduced meal application now open

Starting this week, Champaign Unit 4 School District families may submit online applications for the Federal School Meals Program, offering free/reduced meals for students.

Complete the online application.

The online application offers a quicker response time and a high level of accuracy for families. Only one application per family should be completed.
