Jefferson Archers Place 11th at World Tournament

Champaign's Jefferson Middle School Archery Team recently placed 11th at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) World Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Jaguars had another outstanding season, winning the State Championship for the 4th time in a row and securing 11th place at the National Competition. 

Worlds is an optional event for the team and 23 students in total traveled to the competition. This team has been the highest placing Illinois team at all levels (high school, middle school, elementary school) at Nationals and Worlds. 
Students also had the unique experience of visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Solider in Arlington National Cemetery and participating in a special wreath laying ceremony. Students Michael and Abigail Combs were able to present the wreath at the tomb. You can view the video at the following link:
