Referendum Update

At tonight's Unit 4 Board of Education meeting, President Chris Kloeppel provided an update to the community on next steps following the approval of the District's $183.4 million school facilities referendum in last week's election. 
According to Kloeppel, immediate next steps include: 

  • Working with the District's real estate attorney to move forward on the proposed property acquisition around Central High School. 
  • Paul Douglas (Executive Director of Operations) and Arlene Vespa (Capital Projects Supervisor) assessing the District's operations and maintenance structure to ensure adequate support of these projects. This team will bring forward recommendations to the Board of Education on December 12. 
  • Collaborating with architects and construction management on a draft project timeline that will be brought forward to the Board of Education for discussion in the coming months.
