Centennial High School student, Connor Whittington, has earned the highest rank in scouting, the Eagle Scout Award. It's an achievement only a small percentage of boy scouts can tout.

Whittington is part of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 9. He will be recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 10.

In order to achieve the Eagle Rank, Whittington had to meet several requirements, including earning at least 21 merit badges and completing a service project. As part of his service project, Whittington donated his time and services to the University Of Illinois Medical Clinic, building storage shelving.
