Do you have a passion for helping all students succeed to their maximum potential? Champaign Unit 4 School District is looking for five community members to serve on the District’s Education Equity Excellence (EEE) committee.

“Providing equity and excellence for all students is a cornerstone of Unit 4’s belief system. We are always looking for opportunities to help all students succeed in our schools, and we remain committed to enhancing student achievement,” said Dr. Susan Zola, Superintendent. “The EEE Committee is a valuable source of community input as we go about our equity work.”

The EEE Committee supports the Board of Education’s goal of providing an educational system that meets the needs of all students and leads to every student attaining educational excellence, including students of diverse backgrounds.

“This committee was designed to allow the community a seat at the table as we discuss equity and share student data with a lens on equity,” said Angela Ward, Assistant Superintendent for Achievement and Equity. “The space has shifted from one of simply sharing information and providing updates, to a space where ideas can be generated and shared to close the achievement/opportunity gap.”

Five community members will receive Board approval for membership. Community members may include parents or guardians of current District students, representatives of community organizations that address equity or education issues, or individuals who will assist the District in achieving the Committee’s purpose. Committee members must have their primary residence within the District. The Board is seeking members who will represent a diverse cross-section of the community that reflects the District’s student enrollment.

Individuals who are interested in serving on the Committee should apply to the Superintendent, Dr. Susan Zola, at 502 W. Windsor Rd, Champaign 61820. Applications and administrative procedures regarding the work of the Committee are available at www.champaignschools.org or at the Windsor Administrative Center.

To be considered, applications must be received in the Superintendent’s office by 5 p.m. on August 30, 2019.
