Champaign Schools to Host Community Meeting

Tue, 05/27/2014 - 11:17am

Champaign Unit 4 School District will host a Community Meeting on June 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Central High School to share information and gather feedback from the community regarding the future educational plans for its high school facilities. All are welcome to attend.

The District has been working with Champaign-based Gorski Reifsteck and the nationally-renowned DLR Group assist with the programming and planning for a new Central High School and a renovated Centennial High School.

Gorski Reifsteck/DLR Group has conducted a series of meetings with the District’s teachers, students, and administrators to determine the academic programs that will be available at each school in the future and ensure adequate space is allocated for the growing student population.

Community members are invited to attend the Community Meeting to learn more about the proposed educational program at each school as well as learn more about the next steps in the planning process.

Feedback collected at the Community Meeting--in addition to internal stakeholder meetings, enrollment data, site analyses, community surveys, and other studies commissioned by or available to the District--will help to inform the Board of Education as it makes decisions regarding the future of the District’s high schools.
