Champaign Unit 4 Food Service Offers Summer Feeding Program

Champaign Unit 4 Schools has been awarded a federally funded grant to offer free summer meals to children 18 years and younger at several designated locations. This program is made available to area school districts that have 50% or more students eligible to receive free and reduced lunch when the national school lunch program is not available during the summer. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the following sites through August 2010;

Congratulations to Jefferson Middle School teacher Christine Adrian who has been selected as the Illinois History Teacher of the year by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. Founded in 1994, the Gilder Lehrman Institute is a nonprofit organization that supports the study and love of American history through a wide range of programs and resources for students, teachers, scholars, and history enthusiasts throughout the nation.

Jefferson Middle School Selected As SMART Showcase School

SMART Technologies announced that Jefferson Middle School in Champaign, IL has been added to the elite list of SMART Showcase Schools across North America. Showcase Schools are leaders in the adoption and use of technology that improves student outcomes and teacher effectiveness. There are fewer than 170 SMART Showcase Schools and Districts across the United States and Canada.
