Champaign Unit 4 School District to celebrate NAAPID on February 11

In honor of National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID) on Monday, February 11, each Unit 4 school is inviting parents to visit their child’s school and take part in special activities. Below is a summary of activities at several of our campuses.

Register for kindergarten by March 29

Kindergarten registration is happening now through March 29. Families with incoming kindergarten students residing in the Champaign Unit 4 School District may register for the 2019-2020 school year and rank their elementary school preference in the Schools of Choice process.

Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2019, to register for kindergarten.Younger siblings of current Unit 4 students should also register during this time.

Champaign Unit 4 School District announces Chief Communications Officer

Congratulations to John Lyday, who was selected as the Chief Communications Officer. Mr. Lyday joins the district with 40 years of public relations experience, 20 of those years spent in education.

Share feedback on proposed traffic plans near Central High School

On Thursday, December 6, at 5:30 p.m., neighbors were invited to learn more about proposed traffic plans for New and Lynn streets related to the renovation and expansion of Central High School and share feedback.

Important Update for Unit 4 Families

The Champaign Federation of Teachers (CFT) filed a Notice of Intent to Strike on November 15, 2018. By law, the earliest school day the teachers could strike is Monday, November 26, 2018. On or after this date, the teachers could choose to strike at any time, without any further notice.
