Watch Graduation Ceremonies: Central | Centennial

A total of 580 graduates, 295 from Centennial and 285 from Central, officially completed their Unit 4 education this week. Many of them participated in traditional commencement ceremonies and “walked the stage” Tuesday at Tommy Stewart Field in Champaign.

“There is no doubt in our mind that you are shining examples of resilience and grit,” Central principal Joe Williams told graduates. “While the Class of 2020 definitely lost out on the end-of-year traditions, all of you joined all of us - your teachers, your administrators, your families - in a year like no other. Not one of us knew what we were doing as we headed into this school year and you exemplify passion, flexibility, and grace under pressure."

Between the two high schools, the Class of 2021 included 29 students graduating with highest honors (4.0 GPA) and 170 with high honors (3.5-4.0 GPA).

“It was great to be able to celebrate this important event in person with our students, families and staff,” said Centennial principal Chuck Neitzel. “It was a fantastic event and helped to highlight the incredible things our student have done and will do in the future. They handled this most difficult year with grace and flexibility.”

Congratulations to all Unit 4 graduates and best of luck in your future endeavors!
