Central Teacher Selected for IAEA Award

Central's Comparetto Selected for Illinois Art Education Association Award

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Central High School art and design educator Carol-Lynn Comparetto was named Early Professional Art Educator of the Year by the Illinois Art Education Association (IAEA). Comparetto will be honored by the IAEA at its annual conference, Nov. 6 and 7.

Comparetto, in her sixth year teaching at Central, received recognition for professional performance, service, and exemplary leadership to the field. At Central, she teaches a range of courses including Art Foundations, Painting Studio, Ceramics and Sculpture Studio, and AP 2D Design. Comparetto is an active member of IAEA, serving as Central Council’s Vice President.

The IAEA annually recognizes art, design, and media educators among a highly competitive slate of nominees and is the premier professional development provider for art, design, and media educators in Illinois. The organization serves thousands of teachers statewide through a wide range of programs and services.
