We will use SportsYou as our primary source of announcements and updates on upcoming dates, schedules, permission slips, etc. It also allows students and parents to contact the directors directly. There will be separate groups for Marching Band, Color Guard, Concert Bands, and Jazz Bands. Color Guard must join both the Color Guard and Marching Band SportsYou.

Band Camp Supplies/Conditioning
Lightweight, light colored clothing, hat, sunscreen Athletic shoes Refillable Water Bottle Wind players should purchase a lyre/flip folder that fits their instrument. It’s best to take your instrument to the music store to fit it for this purpose. We have a few on hand, but may not have the type/size you need for your specific instrument. The band will spend a lot of time outside in the sun and heat. Students need to eat and hydrate during the day and the evenings the day before practices. We recommend that students get outside to get used to being in the heat and weather before camp starts.
Field Show Music and Links will be posted on SportsYou
Pep Band
All students in the band program (Marching Band and Concert Bands) will participate in the pep band for the basketball season. The program will split into two bands (Blue Band and Silver Band) based on instrumentation. Each band will be assigned to half of the games in the season. These dates will be shared as soon as we receive a finalized game calendar. These games are graded and are worth half of a concert or marching competition in the student’s respective class.
Jazz
The Jazz program will start in the 2nd quarter. The top group, Centennial Jazz Ensemble, is made up of students in the 2nd Hour Symphonic Band only. The second group, Centennial Jazz Lab Band, is made up primarily of students in 3rd Hour Concert Band. Jazz Lab Band is also open to students in other performing ensemble classes at Centennial (Orchestra or Choir classes). If you are interested in the jazz program, contact Mr. Allen and Mr. Ford.
