Champaign-Urbana Schools Foundation

The supporters of the Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation (CUSF) are committed to enriching the community by encouraging educational initiatives and facilitating excellence in the public schools of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.

The organizational mission, as supported by the CUSF Board of Directors is to elevate the excellence in Champaign and Urbana public schools by investing in educators and students.

Since 1990, CUSF has accepted applications each year from educators in the Champaign and Urbana public schools, and made grant awards based on these proposals. CUSF funds a broad spectrum of projects including early literacy, ESL and foreign language development, health and wellness, STEAM, fine and performing arts and career and technical education to help children of all ages and all levels of accomplishment, with continuing benefits long after the initial investment.

The Foundation’s goal, in working with two school systems cooperatively, is to change lives by providing students and educators with the resources to create the best educational opportunities.  By providing the “venture capital” for innovative ideas on important educational issues, the Foundation aims to strengthen the ability of our schools to prepare students for the rest of their lives. As of FY18, CUSF funded through grants, outright targeted gifts, scholarships and endowed funds, over $1,900,000 of locally-raised dollars to our schools--serving thousands of K-12 children.  More information is available at http://cuschoolsfoundation.org/ or follow CUSF on social media at:
