The Unit 4 Board of Education honored staff members with 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service to Champaign Unit 4 Schools during its May 8th meeting. The Board passed a resolution and approved a stipend for this year's Service Award recipients. We are grateful for the commitment of our staff members. The Unit 4 Board of Education also honored new and recertified National Board-Certified Teachers. The National Board-Certified Teacher distinction is achieved upon successful completion of a voluntary and rigorous assessment program designed to recognize effective and accomplished teachers who meet high standards based on what teachers should know and be able to do. Certification is valid for 5 years, and teachers are encouraged to reassess every 5 years to maintain their certification.
