Dan Nock and Rick Loy

At last evening's Unit 4 Board of Education meeting, the Board approved two administrative appointments.

Mr. Daniel (Dan) Nock was appointed as the Principal of Carrie Busey Elementary School. Mr. Nock’s career in education began in 2011 as a Mathematics Teacher with North Ridge Middle School in Danville, IL. After serving three years in this position, he accepted a position with Northeast Elementary Magnet School in Danville, IL, where he taught 3rd, 4th and 6th grades. In 2018, Mr. Nock joined Mahomet-Seymour School District as a 4th Grade Teacher at Lincoln Trail Elementary School. For the 2021-2022 school year, Dan joined Unit 4 as the Assistant Principal of Westview Elementary School. He will leave this position to become the Principal of Carrie Busey Elementary School.

Mr. Nock earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle Level Education from Illinois State University (2011). He earned his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Eastern Illinois University (2019).

Mr. Nock is passionate about education and eager to begin the role of Principal at Carrie Busey Elementary.

Mr. Enrique (Rick) Loy was approved as the Assistant Director of Transportation. Mr. Loy began his professional career in May 2004 when he joined The United States Army. During his time with The United States Army he has served as a Firing Platoon Leader (May 2004-January 2006),Company Executive Officer (January 2006-April 2007), Battalion S-3 (April 2007-September 2007), Bravo Company Commander (September 2007-July 2008), Alpha Company Commander (July 2008-January 2010), Logistics Captain Career Course (January 2010-July 2010), Assistant S-4 (July 2010-July 2013), Force Design Division Structure and Analysis Branch Officer (July 2013-July 2014), Command and General Staff College (July 2014-July 2015), Brigade Executive Officer (July 2015-September 2016), Brigade S-4 (September 2016-July 2018), and Combat Service Support Battalion Senior Observer Coach-Trainer (July 2018-August 2019). From August 2019-July 2023, Mr. Loy worked as a Professor of Military Science with the Eastern Illinois University ROTC Program.

Beginning November 2023, he joined Unit 4 Schools as the Transportation Operations Supervisor; he will now serve the District as an Assistant Director of Transportation.

Mr. Loy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing (2003) from New Mexico State University and a Master of Science in Administration (2015) from Central Michigan University.

Since joining the Transportation Department in November, Mr. Loy has been a proven asset to the department by building positive relationships with staff and community members. His appointment will ensure continuous leadership among the Transportation Department.
