Centennial and Central earn Bronze level AP 2025 School Honor Roll

Champaign Unit 4 School District is proud to announce that both of its high schools have earned Bronze-level recognition on the 2025 AP® School Honor Roll, a distinction awarded by the College Board to schools that expand access to Advanced Placement (AP) courses while supporting student success.

To qualify for the AP School Honor Roll, schools must meet specific benchmarks demonstrating both participation and performance. These include having at least 40% of graduating students take one or more AP exams, 25% of graduates earn a score of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam, and at least 2% of graduating students take five or more AP exams during high school.

Unit 4’s graduating Class of 2025 exceeded each of these benchmarks. Districtwide, 44% of graduates took at least one AP exam, 31% earned a score of 3 or higher on at least one exam, and 11% of students completed five or more AP exams during their high school careers.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have demonstrated a commitment to preparing students for college by increasing access to rigorous coursework and fostering a culture of academic achievement. According to the College Board, students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college, graduate on time, and feel confident in college-level academic settings. Students who earn AP credit can also accelerate their path to a degree, while all AP participants benefit from early exposure to college-level expectations.

College Board Head of AP and Instruction Trevor Packer commended Unit 4’s schoolwide efforts, noting that success on the AP School Honor Roll reflects the dedication of teachers, counselors, administrators, students, and families working together to make advanced coursework accessible and meaningful.

Champaign Unit 4 School District celebrates this achievement as a reflection of its ongoing commitment to academic excellence and college readiness for all students.
