National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID)  Schedule of Events  Monday, February 9, 2026

Unit 4 Schools is gearing up to celebrate National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID) with a series of events designed to welcome and engage families. On February 9th, schools across the District will host a variety of activities, including classroom visits, student performances, guest speakers, and community discussions. NAAPID is an opportunity for parents, guardians, and community members to connect with schools and celebrate the importance of family involvement in education. 

Below is an overview of events happening at each school. Please contact your child’s school if you have any questions.

CECC

  • 11:45AM-1:00PM

  • If your child is in the AM session, if you plan to attend the lunch, you need to make plans to pick up your child no later than 11:25 from his/her classroom. If your child usually rides the bus after dismissal and a parent is not here by 11:25, the child will be put on the bus.

  • If your child is in the PM session, and you plan to attend the lunch, you need to make plans to bring your child with you and plan to stay with him/her until the bell rings at 1:00.

Barkstall

  • Parents and family members are invited to come in and read a book

  • 11:00 am - 12:55 pm Join your student for lunch during their lunch time

Booker T Washington

  • 9:00 am - Village Voices & Coffee with Mrs. Thomas

  • 10:15 am - Class visits

  • 11:30 am - Parent Pour

  • 1:00 pm - Class visits

  • 2:00 pm - Village Vibes

Bottenfield
